** If you’re yet to see Pink’s Truth About Love Tour and don’t want to know too much about what happens, please don’t read on – I don’t feel like I’ve said heaps, but just in case. **

On the weekend, James and I left the Munchies with my mum and went to Sydney for a much needed break and to attend our first concert together. In fact, it was James’ first which didn’t involve grown men in coloured skivvies and my first ‘big’ concert.

Pink’s Truth About Love Tour can be summed up in two words; FREAKING AMAZING. Seriously. We arrived very early and were able to sit and watch the Sydney Entertainment Centre fill up with my friend, Jess and her fiance Simon.

We waited for quite a while and when the lights started to dim and Young Blood Hawke finally took to the stage we were thrilled. They were highly enthusiastic and quite good. Their ability to drum in time, all together, was impressive but I was starting to feel a little worried about the rest of the night. And the seats we were sitting in where pretty uncomfortable.

During the intermission, Rubix Von Füchenhürtz, ‘Host/Emcee/Sexpert of The Truth About Love Tour’ started … revving/warming (?) up the crowd – at one point licking a bald mans head and eating a woman’s hair. It was funny and disgusting all at once. Every time he would disappear we would freak out that he might pop up near us.

Thankfully, he was soon on stage welcoming us and looking for someone in the crowd to come up on stage. That ‘someone’ was Pink herself. And, the next thing we knew she was being launched out of a hole in the ground and being caught by three topless men.P!nk, Truth About Love, Truth About Love Tour, Sydney

I had goosebumps, James was bopping, I was singing and Pink was amazing. She was flawless.

There wasn’t a single moment of tedium. From the acrobatics to the gorgeous slower covers of Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’ and Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Time After Time’. She did her new stuff and some of her older songs with the same passion and gusto. She broke out the bad dance moves – which was one of my favourite parts.

Her costumes were stunning and she is one ripped Mumma.

But, we get to see a softer side too. In a soft flowing dress, she told us she likes to learn one new thing for each tour and this time it was playing the piano. While she didn’t quite make it perfectly through it was endearing to see this woman who, not long before had been showing us her amazing skills and strength by whirling and twirling above the ground (and still looking graceful and amazing thankyouverymuch) and who performs with such energy of a night while being a Mumma to her gorgeous daughter of a day, is still learning and growing like the rest of us. Still. She sung and played the piano at the same time. To me, who is constantly unable to be coordinated enough to walk without issue, that is pretty awesome.

Excited about the show

Seeing her signing autographs, accepting gifts and talking to those around the stage while performing just confirms how down to earth she is. And, guys, she sounds even better live.

Truth About Love Tour, Sydney, Sydney Entertainment Centre,

After we had our minds blown, I was so hyped and buzzing that I couldn’t sleep. We were away from the kids for two nights and we pretty much didn’t sleep a wink. I still am pretty hyped and energised, though, I am back to sleeping – thankfully! We loved it so much that we desperately spent Saturday trying to find tickets for that night’s show. We were unsuccessful and kicking ourselves as we’d considered buying more tickets at one stage only to decide not to ‘in case we didn’t like it’. We’re idiots (queue eye rolling).

So, in conclusion; Pink’s Truth About Love Tour – Worth It? Ahh. YES!Did you go? Would you like to have gone?

Linking up with Jess for #ibot.
