Yesterday I was given a tentative ‘all clear’ to pick up, carry and hold Felix (carefully, when necessary) and to drive after a looooong two weeks. To celebrate, I got a flat battery at school pick up and had to hold and jiggle him on the path in front of the school for an hour while we all huddled under the one little tree and it’s spattering of shade to avoid the sun as much as possible.
I can’t tell you how great it felt to be winning* at life my first day back on official mum duties.
Thankfully, James whipped to the shops, bought a jumper lead and came to our rescue. I’m starting to think I just need to get him a superhero suit for Christmas and be done with it because in the past two weeks alone he has gone above and beyond in order for me to recuperate. He rocked the stay-at-home daddy thing to the point that I was starting to think we should switch roles (but we won’t. Next baby 
Last night I ended the day still so exhausted and pained but ready to take on another day, complete with baby cuddles and a beautiful Shepard’s Pie that I made yesterday for tonight which has been taunting me.
Maybe I did win a little.
