We started our Australia Day on North Broulee beach watching 281 surfers attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most surfers riding the same wave. Organised by Surf the Bay surf school, with all funds raised going to the Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club and the Westpac Life Saver rescue helicopter, it was a beautiful morning and quite a spectacle! Whether they break the record or not, it was a great event to be part of. In a spectating capacity. Because I haven’t the coordination for surfing. The videos are still being reviewed, apparently it can take up to a week before we find out if they made it. I am putting my money on yes.
After that we headed for Canberra to hang with Nanna and watch the fireworks.
What did you do for Australia Day/the long weekend?
